Mabel Pines
Twelve-year-old Mabel Pines, sister of Dipper Pines, is another one of the main Protagonists in Gravity Falls. She lives in Piedmont, California, with her twin brother, Dipper. She comes to gravity falls in the beginning of the summer of 2012 when her parents said that she needed some “Fresh Air.”
Mabel is the definition of childhood innocence. She loved unicorns (until the episode “The Last Mabelcorn”), she wears brightly-colored, hand-knitted sweaters, and is just a friendly and outgoing person in general. Mabel almost always has a smile (and glitter) on her face and an optimistic approach to everything, but Mabel’s innocence is not ignorance. She has helped Dipper face countless monsters, and most of the time, she was the key to defeating them. In the episode “Weirdmageddon Part 1,” Dipper says that he won’t be able to defeat the shows main antagonist, Bill Cipher, without Mabel’s help because every monster he’s ever defeated, he defeated with Mabel. Mabel also really cares about her family, but most importantly, her brother. In the episode “Sock Opera,” Dipper was possessed by Bill Cipher. To stop the Bill-possessed Dipper from getting his hands on one of Stanford’s journals, Mabel sacrifices her entire sock puppet musical, which would have gotten her newest crush, Gabe, to date her. Mabel has appeared in every episode so far.
